Bottle, pours deep amber with a nice tall beige head, looks great. Aroma is of alcohol and spices. I also get a little bit of fruit in the nose. Smells like it’s going to be good!! First sip, wow, dark candied sugar, a little bit of sweetness and a dry bitter finish. The mouth fades from light and crisp to slightly creamy. A few more and I’m liking this, the 9 percent is masked well behind some wonderfull dark flavors. I’m glad this time of year is here because these kind of beers are special.

2008-03-08. Dark amber brown body with a good sized beige head. Looks a lot like the Florival brune, and tastes similar as well. Sweet aroma with more of the same tangy malt as the Brune, light spice and sugary notes. Flavour is predominantly tangy caramel and sugars, sweet malt. Very very light spice. Average palate is not quite medium, smooth and effervescent. (3+)
Bottle from Delhaize, last minute sampling session at my hostel, Brussels
