| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Bottle, pours deep amber with a nice tall beige head, looks great. Aroma is of alcohol and spices. I also get a little bit of fruit in the nose. Smells like it’s going to be good!! First sip, wow, dark candied sugar, a little bit of sweetness and a dry bitter finish. The mouth fades from light and crisp to slightly creamy. A few more and I’m liking this, the 9 percent is masked well behind some wonderfull dark flavors. I’m glad this time of year is here because these kind of beers are special. yespr (12345), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Deep chestnut pour slicked with yellowish suds. Big brandyish nose swilling with dark fruit, caramel and toffeeapple-ish esters. A physical chew of grapeskin, handfuls of sticky prune and currant. Loaded with liquorice and brandy-dipped barley wine-like cake and malt loaf flavours. Slightly out of date, and better for it. Sweetish, malt-heavy, sustaining winter sipper drinking like a reinforced, pumped-up, turbo-charged mild. Tasty. MiP (9099), Sønderborg, Denmark
