On tap at Flossmoor. This was super impressive and one of the better brews i’ve had in a while. Aroma came through with strong notes of bourbon, and subtle fruit and brown sugar hints. Flavor tasted of cherries, dark fruits, slight oakiness, and some dark malts with bourbon. The palate was nice and tart, and just a bit sour. A very complex brew across the board. Very, very, good IMO and definitely worth the trip!!

On tap at the station. This sounds like a bad idea, 10 beers in one barrel. This should be a complete alcoholic sweet mess, but it actually turns out wonderful. Pours syruppy black with a small head. Aroma of red fruit, cherries, raspberries, roast, strong and tempting. Lots of cherries and raspberries in this. Malty sweet but a nice sourness balancing it out. Very bold with burnt charred oak and a decent amount alcohol. Reminiscent of wine and brandy. My mom even surprisingly enjoys its similarities to wine. Pretty tasty stuff.

This was a real treat. Draft at the pre-DLD party.
Pours a dark ruby in color with no head at all. Smell is wonderful bourbon notes with plenty of dark fruits. Two of my favorite attributes to a beer. Plenty of bourbon and dark fruits in the taste as well as some tannins and slight spice. Mouthfeel is medium and very enjoyable. I just couldn’t get away from this beer. Another very well done beer from Flossmoor.

Super rich dark brown beer. Light floating creamy white head. Nose had malt, whiskey, vanilla, oak, wood, pepper, and spices. Super alcohol taste that slapped the mouth, lingered, and the laughed its way down the throat. While mostly dominated with the thick chocolate, molasses, whiskey, and oat flavors, there was some subtle detection of apples and pears. Full rounded texture.

Goblet at FSRB. Not really an anniversary brew, but 10 different BA beers poured together and barrel-aged some more, a true "suicide slush!" Very heady alcohol nose with grenadine and raspberries (a Framboise de Flossmoor well represented here). Black body in the goblet with a tiny ring of foam. Belgian type sourness on a bed of alcohol pervades. Secondary flashes of brandy, coffee, vanilla, and an oily stout. A true sock in the mush!

"What an aroma! This is the best I ever got off! What can I say about this elixir? Try it on steaks! Cleans nylons! Small craft warnings! It’s made for the home! The office! On fruits!" – Jeff Simmons, <a href="www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token 200 <a href="http://www.amazon.com/200-Motels-Origin Motels.

Poured with a thick, creamy head over a deep, dark, ruby/brown body. Aromas are thick & syrupy, deep & rich with a fat alcohol profile, heavy chocolate, complex, yeasty cherry... everything is in here and, while phantasmagoric, it’s all strangely discernable. Sour, vinous & chocolaty flavor on a palate that is a little too thin. Overall, this brew’s complexity is a boon not a hinderance. What was brewer Matt thinking when he warned people away from this? (Like Cornfield, I just hope it means that there’s some left!)

FoBAB 2006. I was rather impressed with Flossmoor’s aged strong ales at the festival. My notes are a bit sporadic on this, but notes of cherry cola, cranberry, toffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Nice mahogany appearance with a great fruity finish. Much better than the other "10" that day from Firestone Walker
