Jul 20, 2008 I had this at the Mug Club tapping and on subsequent visits. It pours a cloudy dark straw body with a short head. The nose is yeasty and has cherries, lemon, alcohol, warm spices, and an underlying pale malt sweetness. The flavor has a light funky sourness to it and a touch more alcohol. Later visits added some soft bananas to the mix. Not bad.

Aug 6, 2008 Updated: Aug 8, 2008Draft at The Map Room. Poured a hazy medium orange color. The head was short, bubbly, white, and reduced quickly to a lasting film. Attractive aroma of clove, pastry, and citrus (lemon greater than orange). Medium bodied and slightly sweet with noticeable alcohol warmth. Tasted of citrus liqueur, clove, a splash of sparkling white wine, and a hint of vanilla. Nice.

Jul 10, 2008 on draft at FS. pours hazy golden with white head. wheaty, yeasty, and lemon in the nose. flavor of wheaty, metallic, biscuity, candi sugar, and rather spicy finish. not my thing really.

Jul 9, 2008 Pours a very cloudy golden with very little head and plenty of yeast still in suspension. This should settle out given time and rest, and I’ll rerate then. The nose is spicy/fruity/yeasty/and alcoholic. Very pleasant spicy fruitiness is the first impression...largely due to the copious amounts of yeast still floating around. Nice honey sweetness present to balance the Belgian spices. The big ABV is always present but nicely tucked away in the background, moving forward only in the finish as a slight burn on the back of the palate. Very enjoyable brew...I just wish it were mine.

Jul 13, 2008 Draft. Rating #1512! (Okay, I need to stop this.) Nice golden Belgian pils/blonde color, slight haze and a thin head. Crisp Belgian malt smell, light on hop nose. Taste re-emphasizes Belgian maltiness, a bit of bubblegum esters, and what I thought was a touch of wheat. Further in are notes of cut grass and lemon. Bitterness is present but does not stand out. Everything is in excellent balance, which is not easy to do in a strong beer, let alone a Belgian one.

Jul 14, 2008 On tap at the Station 7/10/08. Based upon the 10 and 11, I had pretty high expectations for this one. Pours a hazed yellow hay color with a white head. Yeasty citrus, grain, spice, herb, and a subtle funk. Lemons, yeast, Belgian spices in the flavor. Its a little overly sweet and definitely overly spicy. A bit odd of a beer that’s mediocre overall.

Oct 1, 2008 tap at Flossmoor for Collabo Evil release.... pours a cloudy orange, almost hefe like, with a thin circular film of white head..... aroma was syrupy/sugary with a pineapple and banana resembling sweetness.... semi-cloyingly sweet flavor profite almost like a wheat wine. somewhat of an off-bitterness in the finish. a little heat comes through as well.

Aug 7, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Very cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicey and wheaty. Flavor is wheat, spice, yeast, alc and banana. Medium body with light carbonation. Way too much alc for me and a wierd choice for an anniversey beer, but here’s to another guys!
