Black as promised with a funeral bouquet of cinnamon, nutmeg, roast, pumpkin and chocolate in the nose and flavor. Thick brown head as if it were BA. Wonderfully thick texture. A new presence in my Top 5 and the best pumpkin beer I have ever tasted. JaBier (1261), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 5, 2008 On tap at Flossmoor Station. Pours pitch black with a 1 inch tan head. Heavy spiced aroma of cinnamon and allspice with a bit of roastiness. Flavor is very much the same as aroma. Clove is a little more pronounced in the flavor, but mixes well with the other spices, coffee and chocolate. Absolutely phenomenal. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2008 On tap at Flossmoor Station and served in a shaker. This beer poured near black with a bit of light shining through the edges. A large head of dark tan foam slowly settled, then lingered for the entire glass. Not much lacing. The aroma included toasted pumpkin, pie spices, and chocolate. The flavor consisted of rich chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. No trace of alcohol. Very evenly spiced and not too sweet. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and was lightly carbonated. An excellent beer! Perfect for the Fall weather. BeerBunker (616), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Pour from a growler. Pours black with a brown head. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is of roasted malt, spice, sharp coffee, and of course pumpkin. Taste is amazing. Huge taste of roasted malt, spice, pumpkin spice, and dark fruit all with a nice coffee bite underneath. Very big presence of alcohol, that warms long after each sip. There is a lot going on in this beer, but it is very well balanced. Very creamy mouthfeel. Delicous, but not a beer I could have several glasses of due to alcohol and rich coffee taste. More of a tasty sipper. JohnC (2286), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Roasted malty aromas. Some pumpkin spice, but that really came in through the flavor. Pumpkin pie and hints of the fruit itself. Pretty darn tasty. Competition as good, but in a different way as my favorite Pumpkin beer, Pumking. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Attractive aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, butter, and subdued spices. Nice. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild to moderate roasty bitterness. Great roasted malt and chocolate flavors pushed the pumpkin into the background a bit along with the subdued spices. Very well done pumpkin beer.
