Commercial Description:
A painfully delicious Belgian-style wit spiced with coriander and two types of orange peel. Citrusy, crisp, and very thirst quenching, this beer is slightly hazy and perfect for the beginning of spring.

tap at the repeal prohibition festival at Schlafly. pours hazy hellow with a big soapy white head. big orange/lemon and corriander nose with some pepper notes. huge corriander and orange on the flavors. very bold for the style but definately not detracting. i like my wits a bit more bold. Lite body appropriate for the style with a nice crisp body. definately a great wit and wish i could drink this one all the time.

On-tap, served in a pint glass. L: Unfiltered appearance, pale yellowish golden with a compact white head of stiff, firm foam. A fair amount of splotchy lace clings to the sides of the glass making this overall a good looking witbier. S: Light scents of orange and lemon, touches of floral herbs, hints of sweet hard candy, everything is framed by scents of wheat grainy crackers. F&T: Firm moderate body, crisp and quite dry in the finish. A nice soft twang from the orange peel and coriander, tastes of lemon and mildly sour orange. Dry wheat cracker malts with a light herbal spiciness coming out in the finish. A pleasantly refreshing witbier, another delectably crafted beer from Flossmoor Station.

On tap at Flossmoor Station, May ’07, and served in a shaker. This witbier poured a slightly cloudy, golden color with a thin white head that slowly faded. Some faint lace was left around the glass. The aroma was made up of orange, coriander, and a touch of bread. The flavor was slightly spicy and yeasty, with the orange peel taking over towards the finish. The mouthfeel was light to medium-bodied with light carbonation. This was one of the best witbiers that I have had the pleasure of trying. Well done!

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy and yellow in colour with a medium sized head. Kinda refreshing with notes of fruit, banana, yeast and bread - pretty standard.

Draught. At the brewpub. Pale murky yellow with an average white head. Mild aroma, sweet grainy malt and mild coriander and other spices, lightly yeasty with some dry light hops. Taste - wheaty/grainy, not much yeast or spice character, a decent bit of sweet floral/herbal hops in the finish. Very weak and watery body - even for a wit - some astringency, oddly, mild carbonation and no alcohol presence at all - overall refreshing, but too watery and it needs some fruit character, as well as bolder spice and yeast presence.

Chicago trip. Saturday 11:52. Sample tray. The only one of the sample tray that I had a full pint of, partly due to the lower alcohol. Cloudy yellow. Very nice aroma; sharp zest and banana. Nice flavour similar to the aroma with a bit of chalkiness.
