Commercial Description:
This reddish ale gives off a pungent grassy, citrus-like, aroma with a touch of pine that invites you to take a sip. The American hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Cascade) are balanced by the full-bodied sweetness of the malt and the higher than normal alcohol. The bitterness is not as aggressive as some of our IPAs but the bold citrus and pine type flavors linger on your palate and blend magically with the sweet malt flavor.

Bomber via trade with Msante79, shared with friends who are fans of the hoppy stuff. Flossmor IPAs tend to be really nice and the pour on this gives me the thoughts that this will be balanced. Pours deep copper orange with a tan ring. Nose is rich with big grassy, piney with a big hoppy bite. Taste is really nice, the hops are crisp, I can tell this bottle is very fresh. Got some nice citrus in here and a noticeable bite. Clearly some nice malt undertones here as well. Good work Flossmoor, I like this one a lot.

Bomber. Pours copper with white head. Aroma is awesome with huge citrus and pine. Also strong aroma of hops and light caramel malts. Flavor has nice hop betterness with big citurs flavor with pine and caramel malt. Nice full mouthfeel and doesn’t finish too bitter. This brew is super fresh and delicious. It is a celebration bitches.

650 ml bottle from Noblesquirrel. This is the purple wax brewers whim series bottle. Pours a gorgeous red-amber that is slight cloudy. The head is beige and fine with fair retention and little lacing. The aroma is big and bold with citrus hops, resiny pine and a bit of grass. The taste is biter-sweet with green hops, pine, caramel and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and malty. The finish is long with lingering biter-sweet caramel. Overall: I was really blown away by this brew, a very nice IPA--well done Flossmoor, and thanks for this gem Brian.

Being that I’m a huge hop fan, this doesn’t disappoint. Tap sample at the brewpub. Deep amber hue with a bubbly, off-white head and nice, clingy lace. Beautiful aroma of citrus- ruby grapefruit and lemon, and a touch of spruce. Malt sweetness, citrus and a touch of resin in the flavor, with a good hop bitterness to round it out.

Golden Amber with an ever lasting white head. Light nose of citrus and herbal hops. Palate is wonderful, grapefruit, tropical fruits, and a long lasting gentle bitterness with a great malt backbone. Perfectly in balance. A truly great IPA. Purple wax bottle purchased at the pub.

22oz bottle via trade. Pours a deep, hazy copper color with a fluffy off white head. Nose was big on sweet malts and citrus hops. Flavor was pretty sweet with a touch of citrus hops and a bit resiny. A great change of pace with this IPA.

Fresh Purple Wax Bomber. Really nostril stinging bitter earthy grassy piney floral hops dried pine needles over some sweet sugary caramel and just a hint of the typical flossmoor tropical fruits. Pours almost clear dull brown a slight red tint and a very small frothy gray head. Flavor is more typical of the whim series than the aroma, this beer is more earthy though with a great robust toasty malty profile that really distinguishes it in the series, also significant;y less citrus. Sweeter than most earthy IPA’s whilst still being quite bitter. Great mouthful, softer larger carbonation with a slight sugary feel without being at all syrupy. The body of these beers is improving with each bottling as well as the overall balance.

Poured a reddish amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, light toffee, toast, grapefruit, citrus, and floral hops. Taste of pine, bitter grapefruit, citrus fruits, and more bitter hops in the finish.
