Commercial Description:
Fruit beers originated in Belgium and we at The Station are proud to offer our version of these continental classics. Our light-bodied Chessie Cherry Wheat is a blend of red cherries and wheat ale, which yields a slightly sweet, yet agreeably tart, fruit ale.

(10/14/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Flossmoor. Murky red color. Aroma of cherries, slightly medicinal character and some soapy notes. Sweetish flavor with some sourish cherries, some malty notes, a bit of wheat and some yeast. Medium-bodied.

Tap at the brewpub. Very cherry aroma, but not syrupy. Color only has a touch of red. Flavor is husky with some cherry midway through. Surprisingly decent, as there is no cough syrup type cherry flavor here, only the real thing. Way better than, say, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat.

On tap at the brewpub: The nose had a strange butter component to it follwed by tart cherry and mild wheat. The palate wa rich and round with a more mild flavor than the nose suggested.

Hazy light amber with a fleeting white head. Nice aroma is tart cherry. Light/medium body. Decent flavor of cherries with some tart wheat maltiness. This one doesn’t have strong fruit juice flavors, a good thing.

More or less an okay wheat with some tartness. Not much outright cherry flavor more of a tartness and sour sweetness inherited from the cherries. Lacks a nice rich wheat character. Drinkable.

On tap at Flossmoor. I am going against the grain apparently but I thought this was a great beer. Nice cherry aroma and taste. Not overwhelming at all.
