Commercial Description:
Fruit beers originated in Belgium and we at The Station are proud to offer our version of these continental classics. Our light-bodied Chessie Cherry Wheat is a blend of red cherries and wheat ale, which yields a slightly sweet, yet agreeably tart, fruit ale.

Cherry gum aroma and light bronze colour. Astringent bitterness vs. cherry cough syrup. Ugh. My notes say "Why, Todd, why?" They should probably say "Why, Josh, why?"

Hazy amber with small white head. Aroma is moderately sweet cherry, soda-ish. Taste is cherry cola up front, before turning astringent/sour. Medium/light body. Not a beer for me.

(Draught) Pours a clear golden body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of bing cherries. Flavor of cherries (somewhat soda like) and wheat with a bitter finish.

Clear golden with a puffy white head. Good lightly sour cherry aroma. Body is uninteresting with some pale malt and cherries showing up toward the finish. A step up from Sam Adams.

RBSG2003 Murky, deep golden brew. Small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is of cherry pie and malt. Excellent! Nice cherry flavor! Lightly tart, but well-hopped and balanced. Bitter on the backside. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, lightly bitter, crisp finish.

Smells of cherries and wheat, big surprise. Reminds be of the Sam Adams versions... bland and with another all-purpose-fruit flavor, like the raspberry wheat.

I give this what I consider an undeservedly high rating. It’s a bitter American wheat blended with maraschino cherries. And I’ve loved those cherries since I was a kid. They even put one in my beer, which I ate. If not for that, this would get a much lower rating from me.
