Thanks to goldtwins for sharing this. Deep brown appearance. Aroma is very intense. Loads of big molasses, cocoa and toasted rye. Rummy with a some blackstrap molasses, buckwheat honey/treacle and sweet maltiness. While the aroma is intense but suggestive of something appealing the flavour is really quite terrible. Sticky, rotten banana and peach with a lingering funky (not good funky) rancidness. Like rotten fruit mixed with fresh raisins and some lactic sourness. Freaking awful.

Thanks to goldtwins for sharing - pours a lightly hazy dark amber - aroma of raisin, plum, grape skin, tangy citrus - the flavor is very tart, almost tannic - very apparent raisin - some doughy character and treacle-ish sweetness combine with an odd tart, almost sour flavor - fig and pear - kind of tastes like rotten fruits and composted citrus rinds, which is not as terrible as it sounds, but it still ain’t all that nice - kind of a train wreck.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a beige skin. Nose is yeast, malt and citrus. Medium light with sudsy carb. Taste is yeasty lemon and spices with some apple, pear sweetness. Flavors quite subdued considering all the interesting ingredients. I’m surprised this drank so easily at 10%.

Pours a root beer color with minimal head. Aroma is spicy/wintergreen and malty. Taste is malty, raisin/dark fruit, spices/phenolic, citrus finish with belg yeast aftertaste. A too much phenolics/medicinal going on for me.

Pours ruddy with cola and yeast nose. Tastes like sweet malt syrup, Ethiopian (savory) cardemum and medicinals with a convoluted wintergreen finish.

Bottle at Alvinne pre-ZBF09. Good peppery aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small white head. Good peppery flavour, quite malty and sweet.

No head; red, fully hazy beer; Toilet desinfectant, some cooked greenery, alcohol. Sharp MF for a more ore less fruity taste, orangepeel coming out, all in all a jumble of conflicting flavours. Sharp, resiny finish. Medium bodied, feel as from acidburn. I prefer Matt’s IPA’s...
