Hints of earthiness and hops. Decent beer, but not the best out there. JaBier (1233), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2008 Sample at Flossmoor Station. Pours brown with no head. Aroma of Cinnamon and other spices, like a pumpkin ale. Flavor is pretty much the same with the added yeast complexity of a Belgian. Not bad. TheSpeedyOne (877), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2008 Thanks Hopscotch. Pours a dark copper color with a light beige head. Aroma is sweet and malty with some caramel and fall spices. Flavor continues on that same route with a light sweetness, spices and roasted malt. Overall, a solid beer that is pretty easy drinking. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Updated: Jan 27, 2009RATING NO. 1600 and FLOSSMOOR STATION RATING No, 100. 22 oz bomber, thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum for the hookup. Pours a bubbly, deep brown mass under a fizzy head that leaves a thing layer. Smell starts with cherry, includes that there cardamon they’re talking about. Taste is likewise wonderfully spicy and fruity. Honey comes up, too. Alcohol presence barely noticed until it’s too late. Like one of those spicy holiday Belgian beers that gets shoved to the back of the cooler until a dedicated beer geek goes digging around for goodies. Excellent beer. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Courtesy hopscotch. Slightly cloudy amber, thin broken tan head. Mild sweet malt aroma, very mild spice on the back end. Dark fruits on the taste, apricot, pretty mild sweet finish. Decent, if uninteresting. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Tasted on tap at the Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 12/5/2008. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium dark amber color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is malt, raisins, and sweet. A medium bodied BSA. The malts are caramel and raisins. Some spices. The hops are earthy and floral. Hides the alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Had this one back to back with the Fifty/Fifty version, thought this one was sweeter and a less spicy. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Dark auburn color, with a thin, creamy, long lasting white head. Nose doesn’t have much depth to it and is dominated by spice character. Very thin mouth feel with the flavor being mostly dominated by sour and spice. Lacking anything resembling malt or yeast complexity.
