This poured a barely translucent brown (root beer) in color with a thin off-white to beige head. The nose immediately showed the wealth of spices followed by the sweet honey, herbs (some eucalyptus) and finally dark fruit. In the mouth it was medium to full-bodied and concentrated with a smooth and rich mouthfeel. Though there is also some bitterness of the finish and refreshing carbonation throughout keeping this very well-balanced. Due to this wonderful balance it completely hides the 10% alcohol. As others said, this is very spicy but that is something I love so it really hits a sweet spot for me.

RATING NO. 1600 and FLOSSMOOR STATION RATING No, 100. 22 oz bomber, thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum for the hookup. Pours a bubbly, deep brown mass under a fizzy head that leaves a thing layer. Smell starts with cherry, includes that there cardamon they’re talking about. Taste is likewise wonderfully spicy and fruity. Honey comes up, too. Alcohol presence barely noticed until it’s too late. Like one of those spicy holiday Belgian beers that gets shoved to the back of the cooler until a dedicated beer geek goes digging around for goodies. Excellent beer.

Bottle... Poured foggy ruby with a beige head. Definite raisin presence in the aroma. A little sting in the palate, maybe from the alcohol. Flavors of smoked malts, raisins and other complex spices. A sweetness in the finish existed probably from the honey.

Pour is dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is cinnamon, spicy, sweet malts and caramel. Flavor starts of very malty with spice. More flavor emerges with warmth. A bit of alcohol. Nice beer and im glad to have another bottle.

Bottle, courtesy Kevin. Pours a dark muddy brown, with thin white head and lacing. Raisin nose, citrus, some caramel, honey, brown sugar, raspberry, bread. Flavor is very unique. Raisins and honey, roast and chocolate, some currant, and a finish of brown sugar. Quite an experience. Raisin presence takes hold, very sweet and drinkable.

The bottle art on this beer makes we want to listen to death metal and be unproductive in society. Pours dark brown with a small tan head that goes away rather quickly. Aroma is of malts, spice, sugars, hops, and some dark fruits including raisins. Taste was spicy, evened out by strong malt characters. Nice bready mouthfeel with a gritty, lingering alcohol taste. As you drink more of this beer, the more the alcohol is apparent. Very tasty, and easy to drink. I would gladly drink this again.

Bottle from trade with drewbeerme. After reading all of the reviews, I really had low expectations, but this turned out to be damn fine. Pours a dark brown. Nose is a bit tart and earthy at the same time, somewhat funky and fruity. Slightly caramel, though mostly fruity and cardamom. I get some light honey notes and cherry as well. Taste is much of the same, refreshing acidity is in there, distinct "Belgian" notes. I could drink this all the time, actually. Very nice.
