Bottle thanks to Andrew during the First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting. Murky orange with medium, creamy, beige head. Aroma is a large raspberries and dry. Flavor is raspberry, a little grainy, its gotten sweeter as it has warmed, a little lacto. Medium and some pucker, light carb. Delicious, grain also went away as it warmed.

Bottle sample at Muckfest 2009 Day 2. Cloudy amber pour with no head. Tart cherry aroma that also has a bit of sweetness. Tart cherry flavor that also has a bit of a sweet balance. Pretty good stuff.

22oz bottle (2008 vintage i think bought at the collab evil release)... murky medium caramel brown pour with a thin soapy white head....tart vinegar and oaky nose with sour cherry accents... flavors of tart cherry, mild vinegar, that quickly fades. somewhat dry finish and refreshing. mouthfeel is a little thin with light to medium carbonation.

Bottle 66cl. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ].
[ Courtesy of PhilL ]. Light unclear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy sour, orange - apricot, wood, tart, moderate raspberry malty, some very light notes of medicine. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, moderate acidic and sour with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20081230]

Bottle shared post-DLD at crizay’s house
A sour on training wheels this is not in the same ballpark as some of the more intense releases but at the same time better than many of the artificially sweetened ones. Thanks to Mike for sharing it - I am assuming the bottle came from the brewpub. For a small operation it is a great release.

Aroma / Appearance - A thin dirty white head melded into the brownish red fluid body. Sharp cherry notes are the main feature in a way that is almost vinegary.

Flavor / Palate - Sour and dry it cuts right to the chase. Drinkable as it is not quite acidic enough to cause throat soreness it nonetheless carries its payload of cherry pie and oak tartly to the stomach. The finish is close to perfect. All in all this is nicely done and worth any accolades it earns.

Don’t know if this is under the right listing; my bottle says Flanders Red. Pours clear and copper with just a white ring around the glass. Aroma is tart and fruity. Flavor is tart and not quite dry. A bit acidic but not really bad. Pretty smooth and easy to drink.

06/07 bottling (one of about a dozen bottles), brought to the Sea Of Floydster Post PP Belgian Fest Epic Tasting by weibull - thanks Jason! Unfortunately, this beer is completely ruined for me by a distinct chlorine smell (think pool water, as mentioned in Floydster’s review). This is evident, but not overly pronounced in the smell - but it does cut into sour, semi-fruity aroma that remains. Taste is also hugely impacted by this chlorine dominance for me. While there seem to be touches of slightly sour fruits and maybe a bit of caramel at the back, the "pool water" seems to take over and just kills any enjoyment for me. Not recommended. Great to try a super rare beer; too bad it wasn’t any good.
