Poured a lightly hazy copper-red color with a thin off-white head that faded to a ring. Aroma of rustic cherry and raspberry, some subtle tart yeastiness with some barnyard funkiness and hints of horse blanket. Lightly tart, fruity entry with hints of cherry, raspberry, and lemon rinds that lead into a sour yeastiness with hints of barnyard, light cobweb, and horse blanket that finishes dry with some oak. Low, soft carbonation and a nice acidity. A very nice, surprising beer. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Pros: Deep fresh red fruit aroma. Raspberry, cherry, strawberry. Very nice. The flavor is very dry, sour, shows nice fruit. Very nicely balance.
Cons: Not the best appearance. The head could show more color.
It’s a very nice beer. Rciesla (3810), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Some sour raspberries, hints of cherry and citric belgian style fruit. Tart and lightly woody, not to acidic some acetic acid to finish. I enjoyed this quite a bit. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at Chris O’s pre NYE tasting. Well done to Phil for pulling this random nutter out. Hazy brown with a slight red hue and a faint off white collar. Massive seedy raspberries on the nose with some good wooden notes backing it up. Slight petrol and chlorine are holding it back a little but it’s no showstopper. The flavour is excellent. This does not drink anything like a lambic, more like a raspberry brown. This is backed up by the caramel notes that are starting to show due to age. Excellent tarty behaviour (and you know, I like a bit of that) with a really clean mouthfeel. Nice bug count all round. The fruit is quite excellent actually and gives it a lovely tarty finish. Quite unique really and jolly tasty. harrisoni (6871), Ashford, Kent, England

Cloudy red amber colour. Odd raspberry slightly aged aroma. Good wild fruit. Lots of raspberry. It does have some very decent fruit. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA

Aroma was of sweet and sour raspberries and farmhouse funk. Taste was nice and tart, raspberries soaked in vinegar and a big wood character. Interesting and tasty.
