4-25-08 tap at Flossmoor (pre-DLD party)
Thick red brown with good head. Smell is tart fruit but a little subtle. Tart flavor but moreso is fruity and light. Has a sweet sour tart finish. Very drinkable.

Draft… DLD’08… Clear, fairly dark, burnt orange ale with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. The aroma is straightforward and all about funk and cherries. Medium-bodied with lazy carbonation. Moderately tart, but that’s about it. Not a whole lot along the lines of fruit or cherries. Tart, watery finish.

New notes, June 4, ’08. Draft goblet at the bar. Either it’s because the beer has settled for another month, or my previous glass had passed through many hands, but this one has eased out of the big barnyard and cheese character I originally found. Now, we have a beer that’s still tart and tangy, with cherries and hints of cocoa. Goes down much more smoothly. Brown in color, very little head. Still very complex and eccentric and why are you still reading this; go have one.

Original rating, April 25th. Glass shared at FS’ pre-DLD party. Wow! This brew brings on the funk! I got a big cheesy hop smell right away, before it gives up it cherry tartness. Murky reddish brown in the glass, no head. But the taste is powerfully good. Tart, smoky dried cherry and barnyard funk, more of those cheesy aged hops; that sounds bad, but it’s really tasty, like the Belgian farmhouse lambic it aspires to be.

tap at flossmoor station on pre DLD08. thanks devon for letting me keep sipping from your glass!..... poured a light hazy reddish brown with little head, mostly bubbles around the edges..... aroma of sweet tart red fruits..... flavor of tart red fruit, moderate carbonation, and refreshing.... i don’t have much more than that except for the fact that it was nice and refreshing.

A hazy/murky dark brown/red pour with a slight head that disapperas quickly. The nose is sour/tart cherries and barrel. The flavor was very sweet/tart cherries, oak, and sour fruity yeastiness. A moderate dry bite in the finish indicates a a touch of alcohol fumes. A very interesting and unexpected surprise from this 1st rate brewery. Good work guys!

On tap at the Pre-DLD FS gathering. Hazy red with small. Aroma is strawberry and cherry, medium sweet and tart. Easy drinking flavor of dirty cherry with a little sweetness and a little tart. Medium body and a little carbonation. Instyle but I would like a little bit more tartness, really nice though.

Pour lightly reddish amber with almost no head...smell is lightly tart with cherries and oak...taste was relatively sweet with cherry but not very tart...a good effort for sure!

Pre-DLD Draft. Murky pour with Lighlty cloudy due to particles suspended. Sour aroma and taste. Cherry tartness noted. Not one of my favorites.
