On tap at the brewpub on 4/28/06: Pours a clear copper orange with a well-lacing white head. Rich, sweet alcoholic brandy aroma has a touch of orange tartness. Body starts with a big, sweet alcoholic brandy character mellowing some and drying toward the finish. Seems to have been left in the barrel too long, but otherwise a good beer.

Draft...Pre-DLD06... Hazy, copper ale with a mid-sized, creamyi white head. Great retention. The aroma is heavy on the bourbon with notes of coconut and wood. The flavor is big time woodsy and bourbony. Full-bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Finishes boozy and very warm. If I hadn’t known it was born a Belgian strong ale, I would have never guessed it. The bourbon characteristics outshone everything else.

Interesting, a Belgian strong ale with a Bourbon kick. The body’s a hazy gold with a frothy white head. The liquor dominated the nose accompanied by some oak, vanilla, and a hint of soft malts. Same with the flavor, although a brown sugar and some juicy fruits are added. Very soft, smooth, and hot on the tongue. Worth repeating, definnitely.

Draft @ Flossmoor Station: Slightly hazed orange-golden color with a small off-white head. Huge bourbon aroma with sugary and yeasty notes. Bourbon flavor is dominant but not too strong. Sweet and sugar malt peaks out from underneath. Nice warming sensation.

This draft brew from a the brewery poured a very small sized head of finely sized off-white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma was hoppy malty vinous spicy and dough. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops sweet and vinous. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Poured a hazy copper color with a small, white collar, leaving light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, vanilla, some dried fruits, light smoke, caramel and bourbon. Taste was sweet and alcoholic, caramel malts, honey, bourbon, light citrus, and strong alcohol in the finish.

Draft at Flossmoor Station. Poured a small ivory head that mostly diminished, fair lacing, transparent, no visible carbonation, and an orange hue. Caramel, bourbon, citrus, and dark fruit notes for the aroma. Flavor wa bourbon. Mouthfeel had a warm, alcohol burn. Medium to full body.
