msante79 (778), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Jun 9, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pours golden orange with white head. Aroma is hoppy with citrus and caramel malt. Flavor packs a good hop punch with citrus, caramel malt and some pine. Packs a pretty good hop punch for a pale ale. Would have loved to try it fresh. I am going to miss Matt. ilovedarkbeer (1326), Dallas, Texas, USA May 25, 2009 Nose is earthy, astringent, and catty. Flavor is toast, carmel, fruit, and dirt. Mouthfeel is bitter and acidic. Medium to long finish. Definition of mediocrity. Beerman6686 (1263), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 1, 2009 This poured a nice orange color with a slightly off white head. Aroma was mainly of piney hops, lots and lots of them. Flavor was a little more subdued than the nose, but still contained lots of notes of pine and citrus with juast enough backbone for it to not be a crazy IPA. This to me seemed like shimkos younger brother. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Apr 30, 2009 sampled at DLD thanks to flssmrbrewalum one of the truely great young men of this site was a pleasure to spend time with him and his friends and beers of course pour was a hazy yellow with white head aromas of hops malts and citrus the flavor was clean with the hops adding a citrus with a slightly bitter finish daknole (2802), Plantation, Florida, USA Apr 28, 2009 Shared at DLD. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 27, 2009 Draft at Flossmoor. Pours hazy staw color. Aroma is citrus hop and earth. Pretty hoppy for a pale and very clean. Not a ton of malt although there is enough. Dry, bitter and refreshing. MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Apr 24, 2009 On tap at Flossmoor Station and served in a nonik. This poured a darker amber hue with a moderate haze and a small head of off-white foam. Light lacing. The aroma was dominated by hops. Strong notes of citrus and pine. Just a hint of caramel and light toast sneak in. The flavor was also heavy on the orange, pine, and grapefruit. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and had moderate carbonation. Decent session beer. Best of luck out in Oregon, Matt!
