ElBorracho (472), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 18, 2006 Growler from Rayboy. Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Pine, pine, and more pine, along with a healthy dose of citrus just to round things out. Finishes with a solid and slightly astringent bitterness.
dm9831 (706), Monee, USA Mar 4, 2008 translucent amber color, thin white head. citrusy, evergreeny, hoppy aroma. a pleasure to sniff. i was assaulted by the hops, but i didn’t mind, and it seemed to finish grassy (or maybe i just fell over on the lawn). thick mouth feel, sticks to the ribs. good looks, alluring aroma, great flavor. inspired me to write this haiku:
why does this pale beer
bubble lightly on the lips
and finish with a belch?
ah, this beer made me wax poetic. acrdz (4475), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jan 4, 2008 Thick, syrupy and sharp honey/fruit hop resin all over the nose. Viscous on the tongue with some heavy, hoppy orange and pine notes, very juicy but sharp. Turns into more of a mold hop leaf deal over time, and finishes a little disorganized but overall the hops used perform very well, and it finishes with a resinous, grassy, dank aftertaste FlssmrBrewAlum (310), South Chicago Suburbs, Illinois, USA Jan 3, 2008 Draft at Flossmoor Station. Poured a nice orange-ish hazy pour with a decent white head. Smells of citrusy hops and some earthy tones, the hops being similiar to some of FS’ other Pale Ale offerings. Initial taste is very citrusy, with a nice mouthfeel that wasn’t overpowering. Piney and citrusy as the hops dominate, but a mild medium malt character is definately there. Overall, I was very happy with this brew. kimcgolf (670), Dacula, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2007 Had on tap at FS. Poured to a bright orange-red with a medium thick white head that lingered thru mid-glass and left good lacing. Strong citrusy grapefruit hop aroma with hints of grass, noticeable as soon as the waitress brought the glass. Mouthfeel was full bodied, and tingly, while the taste accentuated the hoppy citrus.
Finish was tastily bitter, with just enough alcohol peeking thru to be warming. A darn good beer. chicagodri (587), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 23, 2007 My favorite beer that I had on tap at Flossmoor Station yesterday. Heavy hop aroma. Lots of grapefruit, pine, and more citrus in this beer. Almost had a little grass aroma/flavor in there. Well done.
