Wonderful aroma of toffee, caramel, and bourbon. Smooth, creamy, and 100% drinkable. For a high ABV, this beer is extraordinarily smooth. Sweet with notes of caramel and toffee backed up with just a touch of alcohol warmth. Very good beer.

In a weekend where I had Darkness and Imperial Brown Goose on tap, this impessed me just as much, if not more. Pours a roasted black color with a firm reddish brown head. Smells of wholesome bourbon in the aroma. Tastes of toasted malt, caramel, milk cocoa, and vanilla. Balanced and comforting. A prime example of barrel agings wonders -- especially for browns. Awesome. shawnm213 (941), South Bend, Indiana, USA

Watery flavors of chocolate, toffee, nuts, and bourbon that doesn’t balance well with the lack of a malt backbone. I prefer the original. 7/3/6/3/13 = 3.2 drewbeerme (2285), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Not a huge fan of porters, but I had to try all Flossmoor Station had to offer that day. Big bourbon flavor. Flavor was sweet. Some nice toffee and caramel in there to round it off. Toffee dominated the aroma, but there was also subdued caramel, nuts, and roasted malt. Medium bodied, earthy, and dry-ish. Dirt, grass, chocolate, and a hint of booze came out in the flavor. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Updated: Nov 19, 2009FoBAB 2008 offering: #404 - Another fine offering from FS checked off the list. Dark brown thick pour with a tiny brownish head that is gone nearly immediately. Heavy on the coffee and bourbon up front. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with a bit of a burnt malt feel. Raisins, vanilla, rye, and touches of chocolate mix on the palate. Bits of lactic sweetness mixed with the flavors make for a very interesting, full, enjoyable brew. A bit too sweet. Cheers!
ReRate: On tap at the brewpub. Very enjoyable, bourbon comes through in a great amount, oak, vanilla, without sacrificing the sturdy base beer beneath. Pullman seems pretty versatile.. I’d like to see a wild version.
