Hazy dark copper pour with a thin, filmy head, very piney hoppiness, peach fruitiness, very bitter and lots of rose. Awesome. I was very impressed with Flossmoor Station this time around. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

pours a reddish amber with a small off-white head fading quickly to a ring of lace. aroma is grapefruit and other citrus fruit with just a hint of some pine. a wonderful balance of caramel malts and enough hops to keep you coming back and wanting more. not sure where the wheat is... and don’t really care. this is an outstanding beer no matter what the classification. I immediately thought Imperial Red given its color and flavor profile. The wheat character is subdued, it’s more red, pale ale than anything else. Excellent stuff -- not overwhelming, but well balanced and crafted. Notes of lemon zest, hay, candied ginger, and chewy caramel. Finish is palate cleansing. Nice work from the gang at Flossmoor.

Attractive aroma of toffee, malty caramel, and assertive grapefruity/sprucy hops. Dry and bitter with citrusy hops balanced well with malty caramel. Great beer. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 On tap at Flossmoor Station and served in a shaker. This beer poured a brownish/red color with a small, creamy tan head the quickly faded down to a thin layer of foam. Some nice lace was left around the glass. The aroma was made up of some strong citrus notes and some light roasted caramel malt sneaking in at the end. No wheat was evident. The flavor was nicely balanced. It had a good hop kick, but was not overly bitter, with the caramel malt keeping everything in check. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with minimal carbonation. Another very enjoyable creation from Flossmoor. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2007 On tap at the brewery. Bought a growler of it and here I am a couple days later. Dark amber/ medium red colored pour with a very small head that dissipated quickly. Grapefruit and tangerine aroma. Just tons of citrus aroma bursting through from the hops. Slightly spicy as well. Flavor was similar with a slight bit of caramel malt coming through to add some balance. No wheat characteristics coming through. I’m very tempted to finish the entire growler tonight, but I’ll hold off... That way I’ll have something to look forward to when I get home from work tomorrow. Top notch brew! The wheat impact is mild (like an american style wheat) which lets the extra hops show through. Very nice beer. DrnkMcDermott (1859), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Updated: Jun 30, 2008Draft at FSRB. Translucent reddish brown like... well, just what color should this be, anyway? Half-finger head looks like a smooth pale ale head than a rocky wheat head. Citrussy hop smell overlaying a light beer malt nose. Taste starts with a big smack of PNW hops: grapefruit, a bit of pine and pepper. Some spiciness may come from the wheat, but it’s to say for sure. Mouthfeel is light, like an English PA, but it gets thicker as it starts clinging to the lips. Hints of orange caramel chews and sweet BBQ sauce further down. Hops build up enough to pucker one’s lips, and leave a nice bitter aftertaste. No alcohol burn, but one shaker is enough to leave you feeling just a shade warmer and happier for having had it.
