| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 14, 2009 Served with an almost-amber body under a short, off-white head which faces slow and rockily. Rindy, hopcit aroma with rye notes and a mild caramel backing. Mid-bodied with a sharp finish of citrusy spice. Flavor is predominantly tart, fruity, lightly pined PNW hops with a welcome balance of sweet caramel maltiness. I could have sessioned this since I am not a super-fan of over-hopped IPA’s. ~~~~~~~~~~ On draught, Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, Flossmoor, IL (No longer on tap, this review is from old notes). | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2009 22oz Navy wax bottle bought at the brewery in late July 2009 - Aroma of chewy pine resin hops and wet malts. Then a waft of fresh citrus hops and caramel malts. Flavor is sweet and hoppy. The rye shows up and mixes with the malts to give it a nice balance to the pine and citrus hops that end up taking a back seat. Palate is clean and tart. Not bad and very drinkable. bhensonb (4361), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Bomber with dark blue wax from Archer Liquor. Pours a rich copper, slightly hazy, with a three-finger white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, and peach! Near full bodied with foamy carbonation. Flavor is rye, caramel, and a lot of resin and citrus. Seems to have hot bits. Nicely bitter. Bready rye flavor. Finishes bitter and interesting. Not quite smooth, not too harsh. That rye works well. Kind of yeasty/spicey. Maybe that’s the hot bits. Really good stuff. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 20, 2009 22oz bottle, blue wax. Rated this under Lady Columbia but after a second look and the help of FlossmrBrewAlum, I switched this to its correct brew. Pored and orang/abler color some head. The aroma is great, smells like piney hops. The taste is wrong! malty, stale, carmel, oil, unbalanced. Finish is malty dirty. Still very dissapointed, knowing this was brewed not so long ago by Bryan. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
