Bottle. Thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a hazy amber with a white ring. Sweet and bitter hoppy aroma with citrus notes. Bitter hops taste with crisp fruits. Lingering bitterness. Very nice double IPA.
Beerlando (1258), Orlando, Florida, USA
Aug 27, 2008 Black wax bomber. Pours extremely hazy and dark, burnt-orange to sienna brown in color. A frothy, cream colored head leaves sticky ribbons of lacing behind. The aroma is buttery and sweet, showing huge toffee and caramel malts and candy sugar in the malt profile. A hefty dose of orange juice and sharp grapefruit hops completes the nose. Flavors are overly sweet, with buttery toffee and hints of clover honey showing stronger than the orange and grapefruit hops that are meant to counter them. The big, syrupy, cloying mouthfeel is just over-the-top sweet. Overall, this is just too darn malty for my liking. Lacks balance.

Jul 27, 2008 Deep copper to almost brown in color with a thin head. The nose gave off scents of herbal hops and tropical fruit. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with nice richness and caramel sweetness in the midpalate that faded to a dry/bitter/hoppy finish.

Jul 22, 2008 22oz bottle, courtesy of a trade from a while ago. Thanks! Wanted to open this after reading the Flossmoor IPA thread; it’s been sitting in my fridge for the last month of so... Pours a clear, tarnished orange-amber color; off-white head with solid mixed-bubbled lacing. Plenty of orange and grapefruit coming through in the aroma, but it seems slightly dulled at this point; some bright chewiness remaining; candy sugar and slightly spicy, earthy maltiness underneath. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy oranges, orange rind, citrus, and earthy / sugary malts; certainly soft at the edges, with well-hidden alcohol; some dried red fruits and hints of maple syrup at the core; a bit heavier and with a more resigned hoppiness than I’d hope for, but it’s still hoppy, tasty stuff; very generous orange hop presence, with mild bitterness. I’ll make a point to try a fresh batch when it comes out. Lengthy finish: toasty, breadiness, and some lingering orange bitterness; loads of dry toastiness at the far end.

A barely average double IPA from a far above average brewpub.
I like:
Comfortable, absolutely fitting body. Quite dry for the style, certainly never syrupy and remaining quite drinkable. Never burning bitterness. Alcohol remains veiled. Very clean.
I dislike:
I had higher hopes. Not so aromatic as I anticipated. Same old citrus display with little regards for the rest. Malts do not contribute much besides body support (though that is well done indeed)
