Clear Amber/ruby color with nice tight white head. Rich malty chocolate aroma. The taste was the same with toffee and brown sugar notes. Thick and chewy. Alcohol in the finish but that’s ok. Glad I got to try this one. Thanks, Kyle hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2007 On tap and listed as ’Hecules’ Barley Wine. I know its not the Herc Strong Ale as the Alc Content was also listed as 10.5%. Poured a deep and dark amberish color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of toffee, light chocolate, cherries, and light citrus (oranges). Tastes of caramel, toffee, brown sugar sweetness, some dark fruits, and citrus. Light alcohol burn in the finish. rudolf (1786), Buffalo, New York, USA

Very soft nose for a barleywine. Sweet, subdued floral hops, brown sugar. Flavor is great, but too much alcohol is apparent! I don’t know if this needs to be aged or if my palate is destroyed or what. This reminds me of Olde School and would be amazing if I didn’t get that alcohol burn from it. I hope this gets release, but I hope it ends up a bit smoother.
Or maybe my tounge was trashed :) Sammy (4057), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jul 8, 2004 Though served on the cold side in an effort to preserve, it seemed very much like a simple U.K. barley wine. A good amount of barley and assertive use of hops. A very limited edition
