Presentation: It was served on tap at the Buffalo Central Terminal Oktoberfest. Appearance: It had a dark brunt amber color with good clarity and a small creamy off white colored head. The head slowly faded leaving just a small ring of bubbles on top with some slick lacing that slid down the glass as I drank. Smell: The aroma was sweet and malty with hints of caramel and a good dose of spicy/herbal hops. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a solid malty body with pleasant roasted and caramel notes. The hop presence is solid as well and brings nice spicy and herbal notes with mellow bitterness. It has a medium to full body with a well balanced smooth finish. The texture is smooth and slightly slick with good carbonation. Notes: This Octoberfest was very enjoyable and highly drinkable.

pours clear orange-gold, thin head dissipates quickly. aroma was light sweet malt. first taste was nice clean roasted flavors. biscuit and brown sugar came though after a few. unfortunately the soapy hop found in the all together unpleasant barn stormer pale ale became noticeable. it was faint, but distracted from the otherwise nice taste and aroma profile. carbonation was somewhat fizzy as well. has good potential, and i wouldn’t turn one down, but some negative elements bring it down for me.

On tap at Colter Bay Grill. A funky Octoberfest IMO. Pours a clear copper/orange body with practically no head. Sugar aroma with some slight malt and hop scents. Very sweet caramel flavor with a thin spiced finish. Pretty average Flying Bison.

Clear, light, golden amber w/ creamy white foam. Slightly toasty, sweet & malty (caramel, toffee, cookie dough) w/ notes of honey. Light body. Flavour is sweet & malty w/ a candy-ish yeastiness. Finish is mildly cloying.

Light amber in colour with a thin white head. Aroma was quite light, slightly sweet(brown sugar), some malt. Flavour was slightly sweet, mild toasted malt, cookies and dough. Light body, low carbonation. Finishes with a very mild spicy bitterness. Pretty boring and uninteresting.

Rich with some suggestions of butter. Flowery hops and a nice malt. Better balance than most FB brews. Cereal/sweet brown sugar/hop finish. Nice.

Tasted at Buffalo Brewfest: Different for an octoberfest. Light in color and body. Not great.
