A golden amber ale with a thin big bubbled off white head. In aroma, a sweet vanilla fudge, with butterscotch and strawberry notes. In mouth, a rather light caramel malt with a bit of buttercotch, watery and buttery. Cask at Syracuse Real Ale Festival, Oct. 25 2009.

Cask at Rattle ’n’ Hum: Deep golden copper hue with an off white film of head. Tons of diacetyl in the aroma with a thin medium crystal malt note coming through the butter. Slick body with a nutty and buttery flavor. An abundance of diacetyl covers some nutty crystal notes. It’s also inadequately hopped. Either a poorly conditioned cask or a bad beer.

Growler from Consumers in Niagara Falls. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet and nutty malt aroma. The flavor has sweet caramel up front and a moderate bitterness in the finish. A solid amber ale.
