Bottle… This beer rocks!… Cloudy, dark, caramel-colored ale with no head. Woody nose with notes of caramel, sourmash and dried plum. Oaken, sweet flavor with very mild acidity and low bitterness. Alcoholic. Nice and warming. Full-bodied and oily with mild carbonation. Caramel and dark fruit finish. Kudos to kp for providing the bottle!

Courtesy kp. Pours a darkbrown with not much of a head at all. Smells very woody, alot of oak, definite whiskey, caramel malt, and some dark fruits to round it out. The flavor is pretty complex. A lot of sweet caramel malts, which seems to balance out the whiskey pretty nicely. The oakiness is more reserved in the taste. The whiskey is there, but not overpowering. Very tasty, good flavor, nice balance. Nice job here.

Thanks KP. Poured an almost cola colored brown. Aroma is treacle, caramel, loads of vanilla, oak, whiskey and some cola. Flavor is bold, slightly sweet. Some of the caramel comes through, with a slight smoked component. There is a hoppiness on the finish.

Poured a verydark amber-ruby color with an off-white head. Whiskey and dark fruits rest on top of sweet malt. Great balance. Fruity sweet malt. Very smooth and nice warmth. Full body.

Very Cloudy dirty water look to it. A lot of vanilla and alcohol in the nose. Huge oak flavor to go with the dark stone fruits. Very sweet. Maybe a little overboard.

damn, i nearly lost this note. huge thanks to goldtwins and kp for buying a couple of bottles and sharing in the tasting room. murky purple body thing with a cola like head. booze nose, a lot of sugar& dark fruit, the barrel comes through. whiskey, raisin, cinnamon, mint& apricots. bourbon soaked raisin mint fruit comes in later. dry alcohol finishes. this does not sneak up, it announces itself and does not apologize for being bold and aggressive. good beer tastes better with good people. 3 7 8 4 16

Appearance: Pours a murky, dark brown body with a teeny, tiny tan-colored head. Smell: Wonderfully sweet-smelling aroma of bourbon and all of its compulsory, accompanying notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and charry oak. Taste: Hugely sweet, with flavors of maple syrup, caramel, vanilla, and brown sugar. Hint of scorched oak. Nothing in the way of hop flavors or bitterness. It’s as if the barrel aging knocked them entirely out of the equation. The alcohol, though noticeable, remains at a very sensible level. Finishes sweet, leaving this a candy-coated treat from beginning to end. Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Low carbonation. Very lush, smooth mouthfeel, but never syrupy. Drinkability: One of those rare beer treats where deliciousness has just taken steroids and is rampaging out of control all over my mouth.
