| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Bottle. Nice amber color with an off-white head. Very little aroma with only faint traces of sour citrus. Some crisp hops in the flavor but finishes pretty dry and malty. Average for the style. nimbleprop (895), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Sampled this on cask at RFD in DC. Next to the rest of the line up this was very forgettable. Pours a cloudy, rusty yellow with zero head. Light aroma, some lemons and grass but not much else. Flavor was mostly grassy, herby hops with some lemon. Finish was watery with some bitterness. I had some very good beers side by side with this and this got lost in the shuffle. I’m not sure the cask helped this at all either. Ja29ck (25), Salisbury, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2009 The name says it all ... a classic pale ale. Not much else to say, overall a good beer. Would buy again. Damico (177), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2009 This has a predominantly malty aroma, and the a delicious slightly sweet smell, I assume from the Pacific Northwest hops. It’s a clear auburn color with a small satisfying head. There is a nice flavor of hops, but not overpowering. llcooldave (328), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2009 Complex aroma of bananas, pine and spice. Honey copper in color, with a strong malt flavor and a weak hops bitterness. Overall it’s not as hoppy in flavor as I expected compared with the aroma. GG (1640), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2009 I keep giving Flying Dog a chance, and they keep either letting me down or they keep me wondering what they are trying to do. This was a let down. Don’t know if the beer I got was a bit on the old side of things, but the hop content in either the aroma or flavor was just a poor showing. The beer pours out a standard looking orange color, hazy with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramels, light citrus hop with a bland earthy/wet-dirt aroma. Eathy/wet-dirt like malts, light citrus hops in the flavor with a standard caramel sweetness. A by-the-book APA that neither succeeds in being different or good. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2009 Pours a nice pale hazy amber orange with thick white head. Aroma is very citrusy hops with strong malt backbone. Flavor matches and is pretty refreshing. Decent brew.
