Commercial Description:
Dry Hopped with a load of Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Doggie Style has enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads, but isn’t overpoweringly hoppy. It’s brilliant amber-copper color and pleasant malt flavor comes from the addition of Carastan malts.

First sampled in the Denver tap room years ago but managed to get hold of a bottle here in Swindon, UK to rate it. Hazy amber beer with off-white to beige head. Sweet and piney aroma, some summer fruit which switches to earthy hops on the palate on a slightly sweet base. Nothing spectacular but a very solid APA, not complex but skillfully balanced. I wanted the flavour to linger a little longer, but good.

Jee, maybe I got a bad batch. Looks nice, smells foul and tastes worse. Has some typical pine and citrus aroma as well as some funk (and not the good kind). Has some similar hop notes in the taste but very muddy, indistinct. Almost like a watered down pale ale.

A solid, tasty US APA. No real fireworks but this is the kind of session ale I’d kill to have here in Oz. Beautiful tawny umber with a slight chill haze and thinsuds. Oodles of tropical fruit in the aroma - canned pineapple, passionfruit, grains. Medium-bodied and quite oily. Lighter flavours than I expected, but with a lipsmackingly resinous swallow. Dry in the finish. Chewy caramel malts, dark fruits and licorice root astringency. Lovely. (355ml bottle from IBS, Perth. BB 1/7/08)

Pours amber-orange with a moderate white head; drop rapidly leaving little lacing. Aroma is mainly citrus hops (it’s dry-hopped with Cascade) but not excessively grapefruit. Taste is American pale ale citrus with a substantial bittering hop component. There’s enough malt to hold everything together. Finishes with a nice bitterness, some citruds hops, slightly astringent. This is a good ’go to’ pale ale that’s readily available.

Poured amber, small head. A little to hoppy for me since I prefer Darks. Overall not bad though, would drink it again sometime.

Pours a very slightly hazed amber with a crème head. Minor earthy nose. Flavor is earthy as well with a nice leafy edge. Feel is well bodied on liquid. Carbonation is full and bites just a little bit. A nice drinker. Smooth and a bit edgy with an earthy quality.
