Commercial Description:
Dry Hopped with a load of Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Doggie Style has enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads, but isn’t overpoweringly hoppy. It’s brilliant amber-copper color and pleasant malt flavor comes from the addition of Carastan malts.

Draft at Brixx. Nice dark auburn color with a white film of head. Decent little malty aroma. Rather sour flavor, like lemons mixed with a watery pale ale. Smooth drinking, but really not much body and what is there is clouded by the sourness.

Flowery hop aroma with notes of citrus. Strong hop flavor with some malt. Finish is bitter hops and citrus. Good pale ale, but not my favorite.

Fairly decent, lightly hopped pale ale. I wish we got the better Flying Dogs around here. This was is fine, but not exceptional.

12 oz. bottle. Pours amber red with a small, quickly disapating white head, about half a finger. Nose dominated by hops, with a touch of carmel. Carmel maltiness with a good kick of cascades, tart and fruity, with a good citrus hop finish, and a tasty lingering bitter. pretty darn good pale ale. I’m a fan. This would be a very good session beer if it was more readily available. I’d keep a few on hand.

Bottled poured at Quinton’s (Iowa City, IA). Poured a fiery orange-ish. Decent head that dissipates almost entirely. A little lacing. Grapefruity and malty. A nice initial hop burst with a calmer malty finish. Almost even vanilla in the finish? Very enjoyable but a little inconsistent in hoppiness.

A thin white head tops a dark amber body. Slow recession leads to modest lacing. The nose is of grapefruit hops in moderation, though steady, floral notes and light caramel malt. Alcohol is not noted. Simple and pleasant enough, with no flaws apparent. The flavor has medium bitterness and a light backing floral note, all of which succumbs to caramel malt sweetness in a semi-sweet finish. Eventually each sip dries the palate and bitterness lingers briefly. The mouthfeel is rich and light-medium bodied, carbonated well and drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper-amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is quite pleasant with citrus and floral hops. Taste was citrus - orange peels - and some bitterness. More a cross between an APA and IPA to me. Medium-to-thin mouthfeel with some carbonation early. Not a bad APA but not quite my preference for a session beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber color with a small off white head. The aroma is big on citrus and floral hops. The flavor is not as bold as the aroma may suggest, but still has citrus hops and a semi sweet malt backbone. Dry finish, light/medium mouthfeel.
