| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Pours a thin, watered-down amber with a moderate white head. It has a mild aroma of grapefruit and hops, although the aroma is somewhat subdued. The taste is of extremely bitter grapefruit and little else. It goes down rather bad, and is a bit unbalanced with regards to bitterness. It’s better than certain macro-swills, but it’s not an exceptional beer. RHeastings (438), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a burnished amber color, with a sizable and fairly dense white head. American hops make their presence known in the nose; assertively, but not an extent that the beer seems nothing more than a light IPA. The palate is fairly balanced between bitter and sweet, with the former coming in at the approach, and the latter making an appearance in the mid-palate. English crystal malts are perceptable, but not overwhelming. Overall, a well-crafted APA that finishes clean and maintains the sort of balance appropriate for the style. zdk (274), New York, USA

Sweet caramel malts with citrus notes, peaches and candy. Finishes a bit astringent. The finish is a bit weird, but overall its a good beer. hatchattack (22), Virginia, USA
