I was expecting a pale wheat beer, so this deep orange-brown appearance was a pleasant surprise. An aroma of sherbert and childhood sweets, combined with a warming, bitter flavour and a hint of spice and aniseed makes this a really good drinking beer. Vaiz (176), Netherlands
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Pours a beautifully appealing, very dark, but clear golden color with a thick, lasting head. Aroma is very malty with hints of corn. Taste is very sweet and heavily malty, almost like malt syrup. Still manages to produce a nice bitter finish. Very drinkable. A nice amber color pour with a small sized off white head that had a good hangtime then faded to leave a slight lace behind. The aroma was malty with a slight hint of caramel and possibly some faint hops in there as well. The flavor was much better then i thought it might be.Nice malty side that comes off as being mildly sweet at times with a shade of caramel and a decent hop presence coming on towards the end. Medium body with a crisp clean mouthfeel . Quite sessionable and a pretty good offering .

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear, dark, golden-copper color with a small, smooth head of creamy, khaki colored foam. Wet lacing mostly rejoins the body, but leaves some scant flares and spots behind. The aroma is a off-putting, with notes of stale cereal grain, old bread, cotton candy, and a completely out of character footy cheese thing. Flavors are significantly more conventional for a Marzen, yet still pretty stale and grainy, with an overly sweet, bready caramel element. Moderate hop character is of the peppery, floral variety, with perhaps a hint of dry grass. The palate is medium bodied, balanced in carbonation, and finishing on the sweet, sticky side. It’s drinkable, but I’m not impressed in the least. punkrkr27 (654), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Iced tea colored pour with a frothy, off-white head. The aroma is sweet and malty with a fair amount of caramel and dates. There’s some notes of wet leaves, toasted almond, and some subtle, spicy noble hops. The flavor is quite bland and watery. A little caramel malt, some nuts and a little toast with a very mild hop note on the finish. The aroma is nice but the flavor is a bit of a let down. The body is just a touch on the aqueous side with moderate carbonation. Ron (1039), Rochester, New York, USA

Taste is caramel sweetness, some mild grassy hops with a lingering spice on the tongue. A average fest beer. Nice pic though. back (15), Holstebro, Denmark
