Commercial Description:
Dogtoberfest is a unique beer containing five premium malts. This lager draws its influence from the Vienna Marzen or Oktoberfest style. It is rich and malty with a sweet aroma and deep mahogany color.

Bottle at home. Amber colour, white head. Aroma of malts, hops and fruits. Flavour is better than I expected, nice dry bitter flavours, some fruity/maltiness, bit of spice and caramel.

Another beer I had on draft at the brewpub before a tour. The beer had a caramel malt aroma, some barley, and a mix of citrus and earthy hops. It had a slightly dark amber-orange color, which was mostly clearer, with an average-sized, foamy white head. The flavor was mostly sweet and malty, with a touch of bitterness from the hops. Average wetness and body, with moderate carbonation and a somewhat full mouthfeel.

Bottle in Berlin Germany. Pours amber with a light brownish head. Aroma of malt and barley. Taste of barley and caramel malt. Fairly decent beer and a nice change to have in Germany. Filled with malts.

Bottle. Light sour and yeasty, moderate malty (dark malt), light alcoholic. Rather small off-white creamy head, rather fast disappearing; dark orange body. Malty and light bitter taste, average duration. Smooth and silky texture, rather light body, soft carbonation.

Pours slightly hazy copper with residual yeast evident. Modest off white head and decent lacing. Aroma is powerful malt- caramel with some toasty notes. Some citrus and a slight floral note evident as well. Flavor has great depth of malt character, but this is overshadowed, unfortunately by the relatively thin palate. Quite refreshing for a beer with so much malt depth, but mouthfeel is just not there. Tastey, but not outstanding.

Two great oktoberfest beers back to back, and this was the second part. Pours a copper body with a medium head that quickly retreats back to safety before I had a chance to swallow it. very tiny retention in the head, followed up by toast, nuts and sweet caramel mouthfeel. Another nice brew from the folks at Flying Dog. :)
