| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 31, 2008 Poured dark amber with a large off- white head, good amount of lacing. Aroma is good, malty.
Taste is dark malts almost burned they are so toasty and rich. Hops are there but are slightly subdued compared to the big malt taste.
Palate is a bit more watery than average.
Overall a fine brew. Well recommended. popkow (116), New York, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 30, 2008 This was a great Octoberfest beer. Amber color with a small head released spices but not overbearing display. Very drinkable with not one ingredient playing the lead. travita (1970), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Not every session-able Marzen has to be stunningly unique. Sometimes, a beer simply has that inviting, predictable nature that one welcomes in a beer you can drink all night.
This is one of these beers. ante (2969), Stockholm, Sweden
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Bottled at Bishops Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a pale amber colour with a medium-sized lasting white foam. Clean aroma crystal malts, caramel, sulphur, nuts and metal. Medium to light-bodied with touches of burnt caramel, straw and metal. Very clean mouthfeel. Low bitterness in the finish with touches of caramel and straw. Way to clean and streamlined. llcooldave (339), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Nice coppery orange color. Thin head and with a malty aroma. Flavor is hard to place, definitely a slightly bitter aftertaste. Not much to say about this one, rather bland. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Smallish yellow-amber head over foxy-amber beer NB: why is it called Märzen ALE? Very short waft of citrus, followed by lots of caramel, sweet bread. Smells more like a pretty heavy Bock, or German pastry for that matter. BIt of oxydation. Bitter taste, leafy, at odds with the nose. Just some caramel in the background. Hops come out in force retronasal, but not very much in aroma, rather acorns-like finish. Medium bodied, bit sticky; feels more carbonated than visually obvious. Not half bad. Thanks to Phil for bringing this! dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 6, 2008 pours golden amber , not much head. the aroma is spiced budweiser. gerneric spice. there is a bitterness on the tongue, and the ever-present generic spice in the taste. the finish is kind flat and just fizzles out (maybe my bottle is compromised). Palate: think water. an inoffensive but disappointing brew. not very complex, and hard to pick out any individual ingredient.
