Clear, amber to copper colour with a mid-sized, beige foamy head. Sweet toast-malty nose with notes of cacao, toffee and marzipan. Sweet toasty malty, slightly bready taste with caramel/toffee and a very subtle citrus-fruity touch; medium to light bodied with a lively carbonation; sweet and slightly bitter, malt-accented finish with a light hops-character. Decent Märzen, funny name. mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2007 The malt, yeast, and hop aromas all resembled the style. The pour lacks carbonation but maintains a nice hop lace. The flavor is clean but lacks the malt roundness the better German examples provide. Its dry, sulfury finish resembles a Dortmunder. Overall it exemplifies the style fairly well but lacks greatness. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cookie and nutty, light hops and yeast notes of grass and dough, with a little brown sugar in the background. Head is creamy, slightly off white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is red/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic then finishes lightly acidic and bitter and just a touch sour. Palate is light to medium, between watery and a little creamy and has lively carbonation. Nice aroma but a little weak in taste. There are a lot better Octoberfests out there. BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA

Golden with a small, white head.. Dry and malty aroma.
A lot of malty sweetness, butterscotch. Grassy hoppiness. sayravai (3733), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2007 (Bottled) Clear amber with a small head. Grainy-malty aroma with toffee and some diacetyl, plus tiny hints of alcohol. Toffee-malty, somewhat roasty-ashy flavor with medium bitterness and hints of sourness. Medium-bodied with soft carbonation. A diacetylic, but malty Märzen. For some reason, I was expecting an aromatic-hoppy brew.
