Commercial Description:
Dogtoberfest is a unique beer containing five premium malts. This lager draws its influence from the Vienna Marzen or Oktoberfest style. It is rich and malty with a sweet aroma and deep mahogany color.

Bottle at work.... Clear mahogany/nutbrown - beige head. Aroma: Corn, sweetness, straw, hay, light light soapy-hopped. Taste: High maltyness, caramel, dark bread, light crispy, nice medium hoppy, light corn, grassy, light fruityness. Light sparkling tongue feeling !! Nice - I Like it.....

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Amber/golden color, offwhite head. Malty aroma, some grass and with buttery notes. Malty, nutty flavorfresh fruity notes, grassy hops, some butter, some milk. I like the balance in this beer.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Caramel and some malt in the aroma. Sweet caramel flavour with only little bready notes. Not as balanced and soft as good German examples of the style. Still decent.

Amber color, small off-white head. A bit caramelly and hoppy nose. Caramelly, a bit fizzy - brewed in "märzen-style" quite well, not so "American" like many others from New World. Good, easy going session beer.

Nice sweet smooth brew, not bad for a warm evening at the grill. Flavor is nothing special, just a fairly malty taste and aroma, sweet flavor, deep copper color with little head. Nothing special, but not a bad brew at all, definatley worth trying if you are into marzens.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep amber colour, mediumsized creamy head. Aroma is malts, caramel, hops and slight salt water & yeast. Flavour is very much the same. Pleasant, but some lsight grassy harshness takes it down a bit.

Bottle from NEPA case split club. Flying Dog seems to get better which each beer I sample. This is an odd take on the style with a somewhat herby perfume-like polish to a sweet malty flavor which is offset by some bitter ground-like hops. It seems unbalanced and off task but its unique enough to hold my attention. Nice dry palate.
