| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear copper colour, creamy head. Caramelly nose. Sweet and medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Notes of ash and toffee. Quite pleasant flavours, but lacking in malt depth. carboloader (321), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Pours beautiful copper with tall white head. Aroma is corn and some citrus, but nothing unique until you take a gulp. Nicely (and surprisingly) hoppy and bitter for an oktoberfest. Some malt too, alcohol is noticeable. I don’t know much about this style, but I like this example. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 26, 2007 12oz brown bottle from Ron’s in Farmington. Pours translucent red-amber body with a good inch of off-white head. Smells malty sweet with some roastiness, though the aroma is somewhat muted. Tastes sweet and roasty, with caramel and biscuit malts playing a big role. Very tasty, and one sip definitely invites another. Medium to full bodied with a fair bit of carbonation. I’m really impressed with this one - a new favorite for the style! altonbrownd (1957), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2007 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Spicy and sweet nose. Richt tastes of malt, sugar, wheat, some fruit flavours too. Excellent to be drinking on the eve of my first visit to the Oktoberfest. Very creamy with a smooth finish. Not as good as other Flying Dog products but very enjoyable nonetheless. Beaver (599), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 25, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours a copper orange with a small white head that quickly recedes to a thin collar.
The aroma is biscuity malts and a little fruit and alcohol.
The flavor is sweet caramel and biscuity malts with a harsh medicinal bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full.
Overall, oktoberfests are not one of my favorite styles and this is a pretty subpar version. The flavors are a mish-mash and not appealing to me. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2007 Pours a beautiful coppery color with a nearly pure small white head that didn’t stick around for long. Malty aroma and full malt taste. My first Flying Dog brew.

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Had this beer on 9/21/2006. Aroma is a faint malt scent. Color bright clear brown with good carbonation and a big lose head that falls fast. Taste is crisp sharp and bitter. Stating with a light body it goes down crisp with a sharp feel. Finish comes on with a light malt flavor and a hint of hop then is suddenly hit with a bold bitterness. I expected a lot more from Flydog, it has no body and is way too bitter. A good Fall brew should have a rich malty body and leave you feeling warm.
