Sep 21, 2007 Transparant mahogany body, with an off-white and lasting head. Aroma of toasted malt and slight hoppiness. Sweet taste with toasted malt, caramel, honey, and a slight hoppiness. Thin/medium body, medium CO2. A decent marzen.

Sep 20, 2007 Bottle. Poured an attractive copper color with slightly off-white head. Smell is of sweet maltiness. Taste is also malty, but also balanced with a slight nuttiness. Mouthfeel is nice and carbonation level is excellent. Lacing was good. Drinkability is high. Another style I have grown to appreciate.

Sep 20, 2007 Pours a clear rust color with an average,, off-white, pillowy head leaving a small frothy bit and minimal lace. Nose is dull with toasty malts and some typical lager notes. Flavor is some rich caramels and lightly toasted notes. Palate is medium-light, lively, and crisp. Finish is short and sweet and crisp. Just another typical Ofest, rich but boring.

Sep 19, 2007 Had on draft at Brews in Granville. Poured a dark amber color with large creamy head. Smell was sweet malts. The flavor was very light malts, and, well, not much else...I was actually incredibly disappointed in this beer...Honestly tasted like a bud version of a Marzen...A disappointment for the brewer. I didnt even finish this beer.

Sep 19, 2007 From bottle poured a dark amber color with a fair amount of head. Nice solid flavor with a short-lived finish.

Sep 19, 2007 Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of slight toasted malts, caramel, sweet malts, and yeast. Flavor is the same with lots of the toasted malts evident. Wasn’t what I was expecting from Flying Dog. Much better Oktoberfests out there.

Sep 17, 2007 Bottle. Pours an attractive rich copper/amber. Biscuity aroma with some wet leaves and cardboard. Slightly toasty and nutty as well. Flavor had a lot of those toast and biscuit notes with some caramel and hops hiding on the finish.

Sep 16, 2007 Pours a crystal clear shiny copper with little head. The malt forward aroma offers lots of sweet caramel and cookie with an earthy yeast character in the background. Again, the body offers loads of sweet malt, mostly sweet cracker, fresh dough and caramel with a floral hop finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Real drinkable and wonderful for this time of year.
