| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of slight toasted malts, caramel, sweet malts, and yeast. Flavor is the same with lots of the toasted malts evident. Wasn’t what I was expecting from Flying Dog. Much better Oktoberfests out there. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Bottle. Pours an attractive rich copper/amber. Biscuity aroma with some wet leaves and cardboard. Slightly toasty and nutty as well. Flavor had a lot of those toast and biscuit notes with some caramel and hops hiding on the finish. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Pours a crystal clear shiny copper with little head. The malt forward aroma offers lots of sweet caramel and cookie with an earthy yeast character in the background. Again, the body offers loads of sweet malt, mostly sweet cracker, fresh dough and caramel with a floral hop finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Real drinkable and wonderful for this time of year. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Pours a medium to light gold. It smells like a classic malted German Lager. It’s not very sweet, but its a good example of a mass produced octoberfest beer. It just doesn’t have the body that alot of marzen beers have. Little or no hop bitterness and a little overcarbonated Ughsmash (4099), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear amber with a short cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up sweet toasted caramel, but focused more on the sweetness than the malty backing.. herbal notes, some bread, and grass accent.. pleasant. The flavor also had a sweet, toasty caramel backbone with bready malts in there too.. herbal and leafy hop accents worked well.. some peppery spices appear right at the very end, and serve to make this even more refreshing. Light-medium bodied with a bitter bite on the edges and a medium-length refreshing finish. Very drinkable. ratman197 (3273), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Bottle poured a clear orange with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, bread, noble hops and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, dark bread, light earthiness and a hint of spice with a smooth lingering malty finish. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 13, 2007 Sample. Perfect amber color. Subtle malty smell up front. Light flavor. A bit watery and bland. Quite drinkable. Not a whole lot of flavor, but what is there isn’t bad.
