Commercial Description:
Dogtoberfest is a unique beer containing five premium malts. This lager draws its influence from the Vienna Marzen or Oktoberfest style. It is rich and malty with a sweet aroma and deep mahogany color.

i usually like the Flying Dog line, but this one is kinda blah. Not very impressive, though still a pretty good example of the style.

This is a decent Oktoberfest style beer but not really my favorite. Still, not bad overall.

A very good Dunkel but why do they insist on calling it Dogtoberfest when Oktoberfest beers are supposed to be blonde? I don’t know. I poured it into my Budvar stein glass. Lovely dark ruby red colour texture. Smells of smoke; caramel and nuts. Tough doughy texture for drinkabilitiy. Also sense butterscotch however the alcohol is very moderate. I have an aged version and it is a good Dunkel but could be so much more. I would like to try this at the brewery. However a very good effort on the Dunkel style either way.

Dark beer with a good head, malty caramel aroma, malty with a hint of vanilla in the taste, very good, best beer with Oktoberfest / Märzen in the title I have had.

12oz bottle. Clear copper color. Aroma of malt. Hints of oak and honey scents. Far off in the distant nose is a touch of steamed vegetables. Flavor of bread, honey and a touch of wood. Lots of malt, nice toasted character, a touch of toffee. Well balanced. Finishes with a lingering toasted cereal and the slightest bit of grassy hops bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle at home: nice golden brown colouring. Small off-white head. Malty aroma. Flavour is of malts, bread and hops. Quite ok, not a winner imo.

Dry aroma, with honey and buiscuty, caramel notes. Almost perfect copper colour, with slightly orangy head. Flavour is dry and malty with a hop-bitter finish that lasts in the mouth.

Bottle, Rehills, Newcastle. I was expecting a pale wheat beer, so this deep orange-brown appearance was a pleasant surprise. An aroma of sherbert and childhood sweets, combined with a warming, bitter flavour and a hint of spice and aniseed makes this a really good drinking beer.

Pours a beautifully appealing, very dark, but clear golden color with a thick, lasting head. Aroma is very malty with hints of corn. Taste is very sweet and heavily malty, almost like malt syrup. Still manages to produce a nice bitter finish. Very drinkable.
