| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Not bad, and well maded, but not sure why you would favour this beer over better priced examples from Germany (well, at least in the Australian market). Head is poorly formed, a surprise perhaps given the palate is quite fizzy. Reddish - brown in colour. Nose shows some slightly stinky grainy doughy notes with an underlay of sweetness. Palate is dulled down somewhat by the aforementioned fizz but still a decent lick of milk chocolate sweetness and malts. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Light orange color with a small head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts and some mild spice with a hint of fruit. Flavor is sweet, grain, hint of wheat and some spice. A bit earthy, not bad. blipp (1769), Newark, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2009 A very good Dunkel but why do they insist on calling it Dogtoberfest when Oktoberfest beers are supposed to be blonde? I don’t know. I poured it into my Budvar stein glass.
Lovely dark ruby red colour texture. Smells of smoke; caramel and nuts. Tough doughy texture for drinkabilitiy. Also sense butterscotch however the alcohol is very moderate.
I have an aged version and it is a good Dunkel but could be so much more. I would like to try this at the brewery. However a very good effort on the Dunkel style either way. ralphdot (77), Billingham, Durham, England

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Clear copper color. Aroma of malt. Hints of oak and honey scents. Far off in the distant nose is a touch of steamed vegetables. Flavor of bread, honey and a touch of wood. Lots of malt, nice toasted character, a touch of toffee. Well balanced. Finishes with a lingering toasted cereal and the slightest bit of grassy hops bitterness. Very nice. bogus (34), Zeist, Netherlands

nice golden brown colouring. Small off-white head. Malty aroma. Flavour is of malts, bread and hops. Quite ok, not a winner imo.
