Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Bottle. Cloudy with big foamy way off white head. Aroma of grasslands and forests, a deep vitaminy maltiness and a hint of sesame. Spreads across the tongue like a blanket. Conjures up thoughts of DFH 90-Minute and is, if anything, better balanced - so maybe balance isn’t quite what I’m after with the superhoppy beers, because I still prefer the 90-Minute, especially since it clocks in 2+ percent lower in alcohol. Still, this is a very good, if powerful, beer.

Another wild and creative Ralph Steadman label design. Pours deep orange-red with small white head. Potent grassy hoppy aroma. Taste is absolutely delicious, full mouthfeel and very complex. Malts and extreme hops mix beautifully into a spicy peppery concoction with strong hoppy accents of grapefruit and lemon. The 11.5% of alcohol are very well hidden. The finish is long, bitter and oh-so-tasty. A brilliant, strong and complex beer!

Pours hazy golden amber with a small off white head. Aroma is citrusy hops and pine. Flavor is big grapefruit hops with a slightly sweet malt taste showing along as a big bitter finish. Very good.

Double pale ale? What about the India? Pours a little dark amber. Nice cream head. Even lasts awhile. Sticky lace down the glass. Wow, nice bitter blast. And yes some sweet back end. Not much aroma, bottle says 08 batch, so, maybe that’s the reason? Man this is alcoholic, whew, i can barely finish this review! But i like it! Hoppy, fairly balanced, great aftertaste, hope it’s available all the time!

Bottle, or rather two bottles from a pack of 7oz samplers. It looks like they’re from 2008, so a bit old for a DIPA. Pours orangey-red with an off-white head that lingers. Aroma has some malt and a little bit of battery acid, I think, probably from the age. Malty, with a hoppiness that seems a little stale, unfortunately. Definitely need to look for a fresher bottle for a re-rate. This one doesn’t seem to age terribly well - go figure.

Poured a copper, with an exciting hoppy nose. However, this is a beer I just could not handle - way to hoppy and bitter for me. Kind of like a kick in the mouth.

bottle from Knightly Spirits I think. Pours a red/orange color. Aroma is very strong. Tons of malt, citrus hops, and some nice fruitiness. Flavor is a bit sweet balanced by some very nice hops. You can tell its a big beer but the alcohol doesn’t overpower it, it really mixes well. Nicely done brew.

Burnt orange pour with tan head. Citrus aroma, some orange and lime. Hops in the taste with some bitterness and slight burn in the aftertaste. Amazingly drinkable considering the high alcohol content.
