Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

a- Pours a cloudy and murky dark orange with two fingers of off-white creamy head, very lively bubbles, and excellent lacing s- Beautiful aroma dominated by citrus and pine hops, sweet malts in the background, subtle alcohol t- Taste is solid and follows suit of the aroma, initial taste is of bitter, grapefruit hoppiness that sticks around for a while, followed up by warming alcohol that dominates a long, persistent finish m- Full-bodied with a slick feel that coats the tongue, balanced carbonation d- Tasty and well-balanced DIPA that has a nice bitter citrus profile, the high abv does not lend to a prolonged drinking session

12 oz. bottle, vintage 08GG. Pours hazy dark amber, with a relatively small, short lasting white head that leaves some sappy lace. Surprised by a biscuity, pit fruity, barley-winish aroma; just a bit of citrus hop. More pronounced citrusy (and bittering) hop profile in the flavor, but with a nice barleywine-esque rich malt backbone. Smooth and medium bodied with moderately high, prickly carbonation and some warming, but nothing suggesting 11.5%. Double pale ale seems a bit misleading, but whatever its called, this is a nice strong ale.

Dark copper pour with a white head. Aroma of hops and sweet malts. Flavor is more hoppy then expected. Nice hops flavor and bitterness. Hop and alcohol finish. Not as balanced. Medium body.

Hazy brown-amber with a small cap of beige head. Carbonation looks a little coarse. Brown sugar/caramel with big grapefruit and slight pineapple. Flavor is remarkably similar to eating ripe grapefruit. There are some accents of maple syrup and bread dough. Nice solid bitterness on the back of the palate, albeit with some astringency. Dry finish, body a shade over medium, no hint of alcohol. Nice drinkability.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium head of fair duration, with heavy lacing, over a slightly cloudy dark golden body......nose redolent of pine, resin, grapefruit, bit of bread.......tastes initially of very high malts then comes in balancing hops, grapefruit finish, linigering but not overly heavy bitterness....mouthfeel is heavy and chewy. It really isn’t a double IPA, more like a barley wine. Excellent balance given the amount of hop and malt that must have been used. I do like Rate Beers appellation of American Strong.

A hazy dark amber colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of hop, hop and more hop. There are fruits like citrus and orange, some sweets in the back. The taste is hop bitter, some caramel, fruits like grapes. Sweets in the back. The after taste is bitter with some sweet and a little grassy.

Amber colored with a generous head. Nice hop smell. Nice strong and dark. Hoppy and bitter in the taste. Gets better and better as it gets closer to the bottom of the glass.

This has got to be about as good as it gets from Flying dog! Great candy sweet and floral aroma, lots of good hops. Plenty of hoppy flavor very piney. Not much head or lace but the flavor lets us forgive this I suppose. Preeeeeettty tasty.
