Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Draught: A medium honey color with a medium tan head. Smells of a hoppy sugar with a definite sweet taste. This definitly one of the better ales with excellent blending of malts and hops.

This begins to approach and equal some other 2X IPAs out there. Not as strident as Ruination. A mildly cloudy pour of amber coloration. This ale says hello Im a double on the first sip. Great drinkability at a decent price. This offering will take its well earned place in the rotation.

12oz bottle. hazy brown, looks like apple cider. nice tan head. aroma of hops and caramel. sweetness hits you first, immediately followed by a bite of hops. The finish not overpowered by either, the hops or malt, just a nice combo. I was surprised to see the 10.5% abv as I just got a bit of alcohol in the finish.

12 oz bottle. (vintage 07) Pours a very seductive amber/orange color with a BEAUTIFUL white head that has amazing retention and perfect lacing! Im not sure I have seen lacing this nice before. Aroma is surprisingly malty but still very heavy on the hops. Mostly citrus hops plow through the nice pillow of a head that is still in my glass. Flavor is mostly citrus fruit, grapefruit.... There is a very nice warming at the end from the 10+ %abv. Very smooth on the other hand. I have said it before, this beer could get you into trouble. The heavy resiny palate compliments the beer very nicely too. This beer is under the Gonzo shadow and I almost think it should be the other way around.

The basic low-down ... Far exceeded my expectations. Poured smooth, drank smoother. A very good high gravity ale ... the best Flying Dog produces.

Clear amber color pour with a foamy head. Nice grapefruit hop aroma, with some caramel malts. Good bitter flavor with a lingering hops and alcohol finish. A good brew that I would definitely enjoy again.
