Aroma is possibly the best I’ve ever smelled. Great floral bouquet with a malty backbone and not a hint of alcohol. Flavor is extremely hoppy, but also sweet. Gentle warming, but not boozy until the finish. Soft Medium body. If you want a high octane, intensely hoppy, but well balanced brew, this is it. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Sweet hoppy aroma. Over-hoppy. Burning. Unbalanced, lovely nose, but not so pleasant once it reaches the mouth. FrankJohansen (3399), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark

Pours like syrup. The lovely aroma is hoppy, citrus, sweet fruits, some toffee. Flavour is soft sweet, fruity, hoppy, toffee. Bitter finish. Alcohol very well hidden. Very soft and oily mouthfeel. A lot softer in taste than I expected. Highly enjoyable. Dastrn (115), Warsaw, Indiana, USA

The nose was fruity and complex, with cherry, apple, and white wine. The flavor is fruity hops, with an alcohol aftertaste. Its very full in the back of the tongue. It really kicks hard! I’d be happier with about 1.5% ABV less. All around a pretty good strong ale, but I prefer to taste less alcohol. tgncc (846), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 15, 2008 The aroma filled the room as soon as I opened the beer, a nice mix of fruitiness, hops and citrus. The appearance is an attractive amber/red, with a strong off-white head. The flavor is a pleasant light fruit flavor, nicely balanced by citrus hops. The finish reverses course, wherein the hops dominate, and a little fruitness also manifests itself on the palate. This is a great beer - a nice achievement by Flying Dog. NOTE: The bottle claims 11.5% ABV and 85 IBU’s. WisconsinBeer (534), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Hazy amber color, minimal head. Flavor is initially mild and sweet but then the hop factor comes in and wallops you across the face. Hops are dry, pine like, with a bit of floral essence. Mild dry alcohol finish. Medium bodied with a bit of carbonation. Overall somewhat dry, would like a bit more sweetness in the middle to balance it out. Overall pretty decent. Tripplebrew (503), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
