Despite its high alcohol content, there is no obvious alcohol taste and it’s an easy dring, quite refreshing too. I was pleasantly suprised by this US microbrewery beer. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Aggressive hop aroma pulls you in. Very floral. Great hop profile w/ lots of different bitterness notes; reaches every point of the palate. Nice malts as well. This is a great beer; no doubt. Zbong (38), Lansing, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 14, 2008 Very good beer. Hoppy taste and at 10.5% is very easy to drink. Gets a little harsh down towards the bottom as it warms up but nothing horrendous. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2008 bottle. Pours a typical copper color with a small off white, light tan head. Aromas of caramel, light floral hops, and booze. Flavor shows a heavy amount of that booze from the nose... and not too much else. Some faint floral and citrus hop notes get mostly drowned out by alcohol. One dimensional, too heavy on the booze flavor at the expense of much of anything else. jerohen (1614), Bussum, Netherlands

Inviting hoppy aroma, fruity notes. Hopbitter flavour, not as harsh as i expected, but actually pretty smooth. Somewhat alcoholic finish, which after awhile develops to be more bitter. I generally don’t like those overhopped beers, but this one is quite nice. kosko20 (302), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Initial aroma is hops then comes some yeast and banana. Appearance is good, dark hazy copper red with a minimal white head. Flavor is burnt, like the flavor is gone...no hop flavor, no...nothing. Palate is alright, not much carbonation and a touch of bitter in the end. Disappointing really, letting this warm some.
After warming some, more aromas come thru such as chocolate and caramel. Still lacks in flavor. Palate seems more bitter. Still disappointed, not bad but could do without the lack of flavor... punkrkr27 (620), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Hazy reddish amber pour with a dense, lasting, frothy white head. Lots of various citrus fruit aroma with a nice earthy, toasty caramel background. Lots of of citrus flavor with a touch of pine and a strong apple cider note. Very sweet toffee and caramel malts make for a nice balance to the hops. Full creamy body. Underhook (162), Lincoln Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Updated: Sep 4, 2008Pours a dark orange. Smells super hoppy, which prompted me to check the IBU rating on the bottle- 85. Tastes like an imperial IPA. A ton of hops here, hop heads will be happy. Grassy, bitter hops. Very enjoyable brew, this is basically a 2IPA- not an American strong ale.
