Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

12oz bottle(vintage 2008)-A nice medium ruby body with a full off white head. Aroma is of hops and citrus. Taste is of hops with some malt then followed by some sweetness and bitterness. This is one of the better beers from Flying Dog along with their Gonzo. This full bodied brew is very tasty.

from crackedkettle.com - pours a clear red-amber colour under a little pale beige foam; hoppy and oily aroma of peach, oranges and alcohol; very oily, thick and full-bodied; sweet with an heavy bitterness, chewy malts; long and very bitter fruity hoppy finish with burning alcohol notes - heavyweight stuff

Aroma is caramel and berry (?). Amber beer with a minimal head on this pour. Flavor is sweet with a nice hoppy bite (grapefruit, pine?). Finish has a strong hop bitterness and a slightly fading sweetness. In the finish, the bitterness and sweetness seem to fight rather than compliment one another.

Bottle 12 oz. Pours amber with medium tan head. Aroma is malty and hoppy, with a touch of grapefruit. Flavor is moderately sweet with a variety of hop flavors including some pine and grapefruit. Not extremely sweet nor bitter, bringing both just to the edge without going over and making this one surprisingly drinkable for such a big beer. Slightly sticky and syrupy but with an overall decent mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet malts, some fruityness as well as mild berryish notes. Flavour is big time hops sweetened up by the alcohol. Also has some grassy notes as well as mild earthyness. Big beer, which is quite wellbalanced.

Bottle. Amber pour with a pretty thin, off-white head. Aromas of juniper, honey, berries, and hops. Whoa. The alcohol certainly predominates followed closely by a very interesting and very strong array of hoppy-bitter flavors. There are also fresh flowers and cut grass, but the hops are what linger. Hell of a beer.

Very cloudy golden honey with particulate floating around. Off white head with good retention. Sweet fruity aroma mixed with a floral hop aroma. Slight malt sweetness quickly whisked away by a dry citrus hop bitterness that lingers in the palate. Syrupy yet still medium bodied, strong, good brew.

Recently bought a 4 pack but have had it on tap at Max’s Taphouse in Fell’s Point (Baltimore, MD). I’m a huge fan of IPAs and IIPAs and when I saw this one I knew I was in for a treat. Pours a rich copper color with a two finger head. Big strong crisp aroma; pine, buckwheat honey (hoppy, sweet and savory). Tastes better as it sits out and comes closer to room temp. Great brew
