Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Wow! Comparing beer to DDDPA is like comparing blended scotch to a 25 year old single malt or McDonald’s coffee to Italian espresso. The intensity jumps out of your mouth. It borders on overkill. Beautifully brewed beer with great balance between malt and hops that adequately hides the 10.5% ABV. Sweet malty flavor that quickly changes to a hoppy aftertaste.

(Bottled) Very hazy darkish amber with a small, lacy head. Strongly aromatic-hoppy, pine-resiny nose with some grainy alcohol presence. Slightly stuffy, but strongly grainy and bitter flavor with a bitter, slightly alcohol-burning finish. Quite full-bodied, lightly burning palate with medium carbonation. Nice, but somewhat alcoholic.

Clear amber of color with a foamy off-white head. An aroma of hops, grapefruits, caramel, sweets and spice. A flavor of hops, grapefruit, bread, malt and caramel.

This is my favorite style and this just seemed blunted and deadened in terms of flavor and nose-- too put it bluntly. I’m just being honest. Doesn’t stack up to the best of breed, but hey I do not regret giving it a whirl.

This Double Dog is a little too bitter for my liking, but I enjoyed the smell and look. It left a good hop flavor. I’m impressed.

Pours dark amber with a small tan head that disappears to a ring. Strong aroma of sweet malts, with some noticeable hops. Taste cloyingly sweet with a huge malt backbone and huge bitterness at the finish. i would like to see more citrus and pine notes. Full mouthfeel. Has some nice components, but not really one of my favorite DIPA’s.

Cloudy amber colour, medium head. Aroma is very pine hoppy. Bitter and hopy flavours. Medium carbonation. Nice one.
