Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

bottle pilfered from my dads fridge, pours bright red, with a small-medium head thats disappearing really quick. nose is grassy, slight white pepper, very leafy nose. undertones of caramel, or burnt brown sugar, and hairspray. tastes, bitter up front, astrigent better but it is well balanced with malts. i get berries, strong citrus, pear, orange, lots of orange rind. great balance. it is walking a thin line to being over the top but comes off as incredibly drinkable.

Wow... big unexpected burn from the high ABV when I was expecting a mild citrus flavour. Too much alcohol and seems badly balanced to me. Beautiful to look at though with lots of floaters over a gorgeous reddish hue. Overly sweet and raiseny.

Bottle. Pours dark golden with a medium white head. Wow a big hit of aggressive hops instantly when I stuck my nose in the glass. Plenty of caramel malt seems to be used to support all those hops. Sticky and resiny mouthfeel and I felt like I could easily be sipping on a barley wine and not the DPA I had in my hand. A touch of sweetness in the finish but the hops really shine over everything. I really enjoyed this and look forward to having another one.

It poured a hazy dark golden-caramell liquid with a small white foam. It had a smell of caramell, malt, grassy hops, grapefruit and citrus. It tasted of caramell, malt, grapefruit and grassy hops. High bitterness and a thick and semi-smooth mouthfeel. Very nice!

Bottle of ’04 shared by Hophead22... Pours cloudy copper with a thin white head.. All I could really pick up in the aroma was caramel.. Flavor was caramel and toffee, like Tim said it is more like a barleywine now.

the aroma jumped out of the bottle as soon as it was opened, amazing. pours a deep copper / caramel colour. huge on hops bitterness and huge on malt backbone. they alomost stumble all over each other, before the high alc content beats them back into submission. i like it...

Too much of everything - hops, sweetness and alcohol. Unbalanced. Sticky and heavy feeling. Maybe thats just me - I haven’t found a beer above 10% ABV which I do like ....

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange-amber color w/ a light off white-head. Aromas of hops and lemon and pine on pour. Definitely has a hard hoppy, bitter edge. Goes down w/ a heavy alcohol burn. Definitely hits you hard. A little bit too much on the hops but good for getting toasted.
