Maybe thats just me - I haven’t found a beer above 10% ABV which I do like .... NJJereme (272), Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 5, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange-amber color w/ a light off white-head. Aromas of hops and lemon and pine on pour. Definitely has a hard hoppy, bitter edge. Goes down w/ a heavy alcohol burn. Definitely hits you hard. A little bit too much on the hops but good for getting toasted. mspindler (351), Alta Loma, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2009 207ml Bottle. Pours golden orange/amber with a white head that quickly diminishes to a thin surface cover. Nose has strong aromas of lychee, pine, caramel, orange and malt. Flavour is a lot more malty but still has a lot of hops which provide the caramel, lime and honey notes. Mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth and the sweetness is kept in check by the hoppy bitterness. I will definitely be looking for this again, and in larger bottles if possible. NathanJM (35), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Love this beer. Hoppy but not as grassy as most IPA, but real bitter despite the fairly mediocre IBU. Dark copper in color. Strong flavor that is too strong for some, but I love it. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2009 750ml bottle from ’04, stored in my grandma’s basement since purchase. Rating #1040. Dark copper pour with a thin white head. It still had a decent hop nose which surprised me considering the age. Flavor still had a good hop bite as well, a little muted, but still there, more like a barleywine now, very good. ꀢ) Wegro (223), Fresno, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2009 I liked the clear pale ale looking appearance. Barely wine style aroma, sweet malt, nuts, tiny bit of vanilla. flavor is similar, alcohol not very present in the taste but you can feel the warmth! moderate hops, sweet malt flavor. Mouthfeel is pretty medium, not overly thick like i was expecting. I liked the cleanness even though it’s an extreme type beer. i’d love to try it on tap or have a super fresh bottle, but even with this one i can tell it’s good stuff. oh and the label is awesome! man that dog is ugly
