Bottle. Labeled ’Double Dog Double Pale Ale’. Fuck me, a 10.5% Pale Ale! Sorry, a "Double" Pale Ale. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper with an average size diminishing fluffy off-white head. Very nice aroma, lots of piney hops followed by sweet malt, bread and a hint of alcohol. Flavour’s also very hoppy, lots of pine and resin, along with plenty of malt, some spices and a long bitter alcoholic finish. Nice medium body. Seems weird to call this a Double Pale as opposed to a Double IPA but whatever, it’s a damn good beer!

Dec 17, 2009 Tap at Ginger Man, NYC. Pours a deep, glowing orange with a fine white head. Nose is heavy on the hops, piney and ctirusy. Flavor follows along those lines, with some caramel, malty sweetness and hints of candy and dark fruits like raisins and figs. Medium bodied and pretty alcholic, the beer feels quite nice, what with the warming sensations. Very solid.

Dec 16, 2009 Pours deep orange with minimal white head. Nose is caramel, malty biscuit, pine, citrus. Taste is similar with yeast, spruce, orange, and floral notes. Palate is medium bodied and oily. Good beer!

Dec 16, 2009 Pours amber with no head. Aroma is fruity with some hops. Flavor is fruity with a mild taste of alcohol and very much hops, a bit too much for me.

Dec 12, 2009 Bottle 0,355 l. Clear copper, smallish white head with some lace. Nose has some nice caramel, candy, grassy hops and some earthiness. Flavor is floral, candyish and a bit earthy with a bit of artificial touch and some alcohol naturally. The body is not as big as it could and actually it’s not that extreme. Goes down amazingly well for such high abv, much easier drinking than many lower alcs. Pretty good, but too strong to be really enjoyable.

Dec 8, 2009 Half a 12 ounce bottle in snifter. Vintage 2008. Golden orange with ring and some lace. Pine orange biscuit yeast alcohol aroma. Toasted biscuit orange marmalade tobacco with assertive bitter piney hop finish and lingering alcohol flavor and heat. Altogether not bad but too strong. Alcohol is not a good flavor.

Dec 7, 2009 Pours red gold with a foamy white head. Smells fresh, of sugar and spicy hops. Tastes of grassy hops and alcohol with a bitter finish.

Dec 6, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a deep orange with a bit of haze and one finger of white head. Strong smell of piney hops. Taste is earthy piney hops with a bit of citrus and a nice of bitterness. Has a mild sweet malt in the finish. Mouthfeel is exceptionally smooth and the perfect amount oilyness.

Dec 2, 2009 very thick strong and bold. Copper. syrupy. like an Old ale I once drank but with the pale ale character with bitter hops and lots of them. damn good. a heavy kick
